May 03, 2007 - I had to disable all the comment and links options a while ago because spammers were using scripts to flood the database. Since all entries had to be approved, it never worked but that didn't stop them. Today they started using the postcard system for spam so it has also been disabled. I'll be rebuilding this site in the near future using Flash and scripting. Hijacking the forms will not be possible so the disabled features should return.

March 25, 2006 - Note: If you have submitted a photo link it may take several days for approved links to show up. There are people submitting hundreds of Poker links despite several notices that links are manually checked before added. It takes me a little time to delete out the bad submissions so I only go through them every week or so.
December 30, 2005 - A Notice to other photographers
I received a request for photo usage recently that had some disturbing wording in it. The end of the email said After a week time and if you dont answer me, (company name deleted) will understand you give full and free use of the mentioned photography for publicity uses without any kind of limit (time, languages, etc.).
The disturbing thing about this is the company is attempting to claim full rights to any photo unless I do not reply within one week. This is wrong and this is illegal. The instant you press the shutter you own the copyright to an image. The only way someone else can use it is if you expressly give them rights to do so. If you are a photographer and recieve a similar email I recommend you reply stating their assumption is illegal and no permission is given for any use of any image. In the United States you can further your protection by registering your images with the copyright office. They can be registered as a collection to save money. Once registered you are able to receive both actual damages and punitive damages in case of illegal use.
March 12, 2005 - In August of 2002, my photo named Lightning Fingers was named Photo of the Week on Photo.Net. Today, it will have been viewed on that site over one million times.
October 21, 2004 - The links page has been updated and all old links have been verified or removed. Please remember that the links page is for photo sites. Links for camera stores, stock photo agencies, travel sites, or any other site that is not primarily a photo gallery will not be added. Read the FAQ for more info on why a site may not be listed or has been removed.
October 13, 2004 - The new exhibit - Colors of Autumn has been added.
April 12, 2004 - The links page has been updated and all site links are being validated. I will be removing any sites with dead links, large watermarks over the images, or excessive pop-up ads. While commercial sites are allowed, the primary purpose for this list is offer photo galleries for viewers. When large watermarks are used, the site is not a gallery but a catalog for buyers. Sites that have a single pop-up ad show up will be allowed but nothing beyond that. One had a new pop-up for every single image clicked. Sites can be had for $5 a month these days. There is no excuse for putting viewers through that.
